If a government, even a democracy, has found a way to control or pollute the communication between people who care...If the communication channels are filled with biased information...If the media fills the time for relevant communication with stories that don't make a difference or don't mention relevant information to help people monitor what is going on in their government...If government uses taxpayer money to pay for time in the communication channels and media to put forth an agenda that is not from the people it affects...If corporate kick backs in the form of campaign fund raising create a sold out government and a 'corporocracy' of corporate influence and control...Then a revolt is going to have to find other ways to communIcate or it will not occur. For the same reasons, people cannot form a consensus without communication and facts...They cannot have an experience of documented agreement on what government is doing that affects them. This in turn is the reason why people feel they cannot change anything that has gone awry: Consensus, by it's very definition, demands organization and connection, discussion and decision, awareness and a unified reason to make a plan. They feel unorganized, disconnected from each other, and frustrated to the point of discouragement. That bring us to courage, as in dis/courage/ment. It takes courage, even with communication and consensus, to make a plan. It takes courage to implement the plan, and be willing to endure through the implementation. The vigilant citizens that gathered at the border of Arizona and Mexico in April of 2005, were not brought together by the media: Issues were reported on in the media, but there was no call to organize sent out through the media. No. The media simply says 'this is going on' and you get to decide if you like or not. They don't get involved. That's not actually leading. But it can have the same effect as leading, by being the only resource available to people who cannot afford to get on the internet and do their own searches for news from other organizations and even from other countries. People sometimes are disempowered by this kind of disadvantage, and they are effectively 'lead' by the easiest source of information. WE HAVE TO LEAD OURSELVES! We have to find ways of engaging other like minded people in communication about an issue we care about changing. The Minutemen in Arizona, who had communicated about a common overall problem, came to agree on the solution: The consensus, arrived at for different reasons, was arrived at because they identified the root cause of their complaints: Illegal aliens coming across the border of Mexico into Arizona! Then, the courage could develop from the communication and the consensus, to make a plan and implement it. And they did. It wasn't easy to do any of this, but the hardest was the implementation. However, as a group in communication and having consensus, and just having made the plan, pressure was put on the Federal government to send 500 more border patrols TWO DAYS BEFORE THE VIGILANT GROUP WAS SCHEDULED TO ARRIVE. This never materialized, which is a statement about how the government is not supporting the enforcement of the actual Mexican/US border! Time will uncover just where the real problem lies. Those who say 'It'll never change' are making the problem persist, while those who say 'Let's roll' are finding ways to make a difference. The first group doesn't deserve the difference the second group makes. Sorry, but they actually don't. Which group are you choosing to be in? Yes, you have to choose. Ignoring everything is one of those two choices. We ALL have to live with each other's choices. So make the right one for those who care. Make the right one for your children. Make the right one for your country. Make the right one for yourself, because, YOU are in charge. "Let's roll! |

"If you want the election 'in the bag,' use a touch screen 'vacuum!'
This is all hypothetical, until we look at some of the data being gathered on this topic. The democratic process of voting is the most important issue before the American people, one of the many problems that require the communication, consensus and courage of those who want their representative democracy to work better. Our voting procedures determine if our votes are counted or not. A large lawsuit has already been won in Caliifornia against Diebold, the company that makes most of the touch screen voting machines purchased by the states for use in our elections in this country. This is a non-partisan problem, and we can never get anything changed if we don't get rid of these easily re-programmable machines that can simulate an election while basically doing the voting for us. Check this out and get back with us: Go to an article (September 2003) on rigged national elections Link to http://www.callitdemocracy.com ...an updated, educational/activist website. YOU can help change the flawed system that allowed elections fraud to a system with a voter generated paper record used to verify each election. It also declares that it 'often doesn't count' under the present process. |

it takes a lot of time to correct: It takes the will of the people, expressed through the all important voting process. If all three of the branches choose to run over the people, and the election process is questionable, then the people have a problem: They no longer live in a representative democracy, and their government no longer answers to them. Unfortunately, this describes the current situation in the United States of America." "Democracy is not something you believe in or a place to hang your hat, but it's something you do. You participate. If you stop doing it, democracy crumbles." ~ Abbie Hoffman POP QUIZ Does this sound like a guy who embraces democracy? Exactly what does he want to spread throughout the middle east? Fascism? "Let us never tolerate outrageous conspiracy theories concerning the attacks of September the 11th, malicious lies that attempt to shift the blame away from the terrorists themselves, away from the guilty." If you need help, click to view video from speech on November 10, 2001, just 2 months after 9/11. ANSWERS: No. Fascism. Yes. |
